A Spell

Take a thimble full of the breath of a newborn
Drop in to this the swirling of sparrows.
Shake vigorously.
Combine the powdered smell of grandma's bathroom
And the ache of period cramps.
Simmer now with crystal clear raindrops
And a hesitant first lover's embrace.
Raise the temperature.
Knead and fold together
With five fine hours of the flowering of flowers.
Lower the temperature.
Add a smidgen of dichloromethane.
Separate the obvious soluble fraction.
Add a sprig of parsley and a forgotten sock
And then reflux using a soxhlet extractor.
Let sit for an hour to relive the memories of youth
And you will finally have completed
This preparation to ensure
You'll never again have to suffer
A bad hair day.
