Six eggs taken from the fridge
Ultimately to be deviled
Clattering into the saucepan
Cold water immersed
Then to the stove top
Salt and malt vinegar added
So that shells are easily peeled
The blue flame is lit
Out of the drawer, an egg-timer
Turned over, sands flowing
As the pot's roiling water
Comes to the boil
