Chris had had enough of Constance and Jared's drama. It was always the same thing. There was the consistent bickering over inconsequential future decision; there were the intermittent and unnecessary personal jabs.
Chris, sitting in the driver's seat, reached over and turned on the CD player. Let them stop talking and focus on his Simon and Garfunkel album. Maybe then they'd calm it down and appreciate the sound of silence. Otherwise, it would become a long journey down to Pittsburgh.
